Our tamariki took part in St John’s Save the Teddy Day, learning important first aid skills in a fun, hands-on way. Students practised how to care for their injured teddies while discovering how St John helps people in our communities every day. It was a fantastic mix of learning, laughter, and helping others!
We were invited to go and see our neighbours and friends at Purua School on their Calf Club Day. Our teina class went and they had a great time! It was good to see all the mahi the Purua kids put in with their calves and lambs. Tau ke!
Our Te Horo students were quick to Drop, Cover, Hold! during this year’s New Zealand ShakeOut earthquake drill. Everyone did an awesome job practising how to stay calm and safe in an emergency. It was a great reminder that being prepared helps keep us all protected — ka pai, Te Horo!
Our students had a dunking good time taking part in Dunk It for Plunket, a fun-filled fundraiser supporting Whānau Āwhina Plunket. The event helped raise awareness and funds for the amazing work Plunket does for families across Aotearoa. Laughter, music, dressing up, activities, challenges and plenty of food made it a memorable day for everyone involved!
Having the opportunity to share our kapa haka with schools and services that have shown us awhi was the great way for us to end our Te Wiki o te Reo Māori. We performed for Te Puni Kokiri, Ngati Hine Health Trust and Hikurangi School.
Our kura were invited to go and see our mighty Northland Taniwha rugby team train this week. Our tamariki got to see these amazing athletes train and even get to meet them afterwards! Such an awesome opportunity. We wish them all the very best for the home game against Wellington this week!
