Our students had a dunking good time taking part in Dunk It for Plunket, a fun-filled fundraiser supporting Whānau Āwhina Plunket. The event helped raise awareness and funds for the amazing work Plunket does for families across Aotearoa. Laughter, music, dressing up, activities, challenges and plenty of food made it a memorable day for everyone involved!
Having the opportunity to share our kapa haka with schools and services that have shown us awhi was the great way for us to end our Te Wiki o te Reo Māori. We performed for Te Puni Kokiri, Ngati Hine Health Trust and Hikurangi School.
Nga mihi to the actors from the Duffy Theatre who put on a fabulous show for our tamariki. The show Duffy and Scruffy's Pawsome Adventures featured furry animals, superheroes, a mystery to be solved and lots of jokes and laughs. The Duffy theatre is a highlight every year and they never disappoint!
Our kura were invited to go and see our mighty Northland Taniwha rugby team train this week. Our tamariki got to see these amazing athletes train and even get to meet them afterwards! Such an awesome opportunity. We wish them all the very best for the home game against Wellington this week!
The Ki-o-Rahi Tournament at Mangakahia Area School was amazing! It was awesome to touch base with our friends from both Purua and Mangakahia Schools. As a kura we loved the whanaungatanga, awhi and sportsmanship shown by everyone involved. Nga mihi nui to our Mangakahia whanau!
This year we attended the Northland Youth Summit at Whangarei Boys Hight School. There we heard from leaders from the Whangarei Area. People who told us to be ourselves, to do our best and that even from little old Northland in New Zealand we can achieve great things and reach amazing heights!
