We always love to see our friends Nadine and Harold, who visit us as part of the Life Education program. This year Nadine and Harold taught us about ways we can be resilient and how each of us is unique. We had such great time with them in their mobile classroom, that we're already looking forward to seeing them next year.
This year we attended the Northland Youth Summit at Whangarei Boys Hight School. There we heard from leaders from the Whangarei Area. People who told us to be ourselves, to do our best and that even from little old Northland in New Zealand we can achieve great things and reach amazing heights!
This year we welcomed 12 kura to the Taniwha Challenged held here in our valley. Close to 600 tamariki participated and over 200 staff and whanau came to support. It was a fantastic day of whanaungatanga, sportsmanship and being together. Nga mihi to all those that participated and helped to make this event a successful one!
Tu'i Patolo-Tipene was our Term 3 local Duffy Role Model. Tu'i is a weightlifter who recently represented New Zealand at the 2025 Pacific Mini Games in Palau. She was flag-bearer and won bronze at the games.
Everyone is talking about AI, but very few are actually using it effectively. At this roadshow we were shown practical applications that we could use to impact workload and save time. As a staff we look forward to incorporating some of the applications into our classrooms and mahi to hopefully get better outcomes for our tamariki.
